The Prayer Flag
continued from page 1

Isn't this great?  I'm using the loom space for this, but you would be helping me with this anyway!   ( I wasn't able to get the arm for the projector so I set things up a bit better).  I've ended up taping the cloth to a  peice of plywood;  when stretched taut, several pieces of tape are enough to supply adequate tension.I'll pencil in the script first, then ink it in with the pen a bit later. My other hand is holding one of your templates, it helps to check the template for those spots where  the larger projected script is  hard to read, as it is in a few places on the flag.
( you recognize the picture of the Grove on the shirt, no doubt.  I've tried this with several pictures and it looks pretty good,or at least I think so . Anyway, here I'm modelling it for your approval! The picture actually went on the front, I've put it on backwards and pushed my hair under my hat so you can see the picture.)

Here we are continuing work on the prayer flag banner after a day in the Grove as this quiet independent effort of the heart continues.  Having finished all of the pencilling in of the script and most of the proofing, I am now inking in the script with a laundry pen. ( You'll notice yet another familiar picture on the back of my shirt.)  And things are going pretty well!

We continue our quiet independent effort firm in Love and Right Action. Here we're about halfway done with the inking in. The laundry markers
are wearing out fairly quickly as the tips wear down on the weave of the fabric.  It's really starting to look like a prayer flag though! I've discovered it helps to use one hand to keep the cloth taut so the ink goes on well. ( And you  may notice that my hat has picked up some of the soil of the Grove from all that hole digging!)

And here is the banner half finished! ( I'm starting to make the pictures smaller so the page will download more easily).

And continuing, our work on the prayer flag banner goes on as always.( I will add more to the pages tomorrow or over the weekend).
As we continue with firm resolve and hope on this effort of the heart, we return to work on the prayer flag banner.  Here I'm re-inking; it generally takes a few times of going over the script before it looks good.  (I'm borrowing your table to position the banner so it is a bit easier to work on).  I've thought of a great idea too! We can make a couple of poles to hang the banner on with a carved gilded lotus at each of  their tops! Doesn't that sound grand?

April 29

We continue our effort of the heart firm in Love and Right action.  The banner is almost completely inked in.  Here I'm going across the entire lower part of the flag filling in the  boundary line.

And here it is, the script all inked in!  The fabric actually overlaps the plywood a fair amount but it can be hemmed over so as to allow an attachment to the poles.  As you can see, we are working in the afternoon for a change. ( I'm going to order some supplies to make the poles for the banner because that is the next thing to be done.)
