Here's the first design for the loom. I kept it really simple and used only a few lengths of twine for the warp. It is a loom used by native peoples throughout the world and is called a backstrap loom. I'll show why later. The "beater" or part that pushes the rows of the weft together is considered a particularly sacred part of the loom. This part I made from a peice of wood from a buried tree. Sometimes when one quiets the mind the Tenger or great spirits that control the forces of Nature can guide you to places where the needed energies can be found.
